BIBLE STUDIES 10
BECOMING LIKE
CHRIST:
Matt. 19:16-29
INTRODUCTION
Among the reason why people become
weary in the Christian race can be attributed to lack of adequate knowledge of
the cost of following Christ pattern, the commitment required to win the race
and the compensation that would be given to the overcomers
We shall consider each of these
factors as they affect our eternal Destiny
1. COST
There is a price tag on our acceptance
to follow the Master, it will cost you something which you will forfeit in
exchange for your soul. John. 3:16, Matt. 19:16-27, Phi. 2:8
What does it cost to obey God?
2. THE
COMMITMENT
Commitment is an essential virtue needed
to continue a task regardless of operation and challenges, Matt. 8:18-22,
Acts20:22-24, Dan. 6:1-11
3. THE
COMPENSATION
Except there is a goal to be achieved,
or reward to be received, it is often difficult to pursue a mandate. The
compensation will serve as a propelling force. Heb. 12:2, Matt. 19:27-29, Phil.
2:9-11
Do you know what you will forfeit if
you miss your eternal inheritance? Don’t be goalless like Esau, Heb. 12:16-17
CONCLUSION
As we are being baptized into Christ’s
life, we shall experience a loan formation that makes us become like Him, we
must endeavor to maintain the bond of fellowship with Heaven minded children of
God.
