becoming like Christ 7

BIBLE STUDIES 7
TOPIC: BECOMING LIKE CHRIST

Becoming like Christ is something very necessary for every human being because the purpose of the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ is that all should not perish but come to understanding of Christ-life (John. 3:16-17). To become like Christ is a matter of choice i.e. it’s a free will thing (John. 1:11-12)
The first and foremost step or a leading way to becoming like Christ is the full acceptance of our Lord Jesus Christ into one’s heart. This is because you cannot become who don’t even know (Rom.10:9-10).
Furthermore, becoming like Christ Is a transformation of the spiritual more than the physical. This is because one can’t possess the physical body of Christ but can have his/her own body at certain times to be replicate of the nature and likeness of Christ Jesus (2 Cor. 5:17).
All of these above is like a run way a plane needs to move first before it can fly i.e. if all of these all not fully in places, there cannot be any becoming. I will say firstly that when a person is saved, it is the foremost becoming because a life Christ is given to you and this is called ZOE life i.e. eternal life (John. 3:16, 34, 5:26, 14:6). The working of redemption is what I will call the foundation of becoming because that is when the seed of Christ that makes you grow into His full nature is given. That is, becoming like Christ is a consciousness that we have His nature and also that we are sons of God (Gal. 3:26-28). This means that understanding the gene of Christ is in us and we all need to make it grow.
For a believer, it is not a prayer that I want to be like Christ, but that we are Christ’s because the Seed that make us is present (1 Peter. 1:18-19, 23). For instance, when a couple gives birth to a child, the child does not pray to have the seed of his/her parents but all he/she need is to labour to grow and as he/she grows, the presence of the seed automatically show i.e. as believers the responsibility of the presence of our becoming like Him is growth (2 Peter. 3:18).
And that is why a complete becoming like Christ is done or determine by what we sow into and where we delight in, (Gal. 6:7,8, Psalm. 1:1-2, John. 15:3-7). There is the presence of the seed but a believer may still not become like Him because of what he diligently sow to or delight in. so I will say that becoming like Christ is waking up to responsibility of the life and doing things in accordance to that life. This was what the Apostles did in Acts 6:4, and Acts 11:26 where they were called Christians. Becoming like Christ is just a proper walk in the Word and prayer, the way a new child will be feed by the parents to grow and automatically become them.
In all, becoming like Christ is first coming to the fact that the seed of Son-ship is in you and raising the facts of responsibility, doing what Col. 3:1-4 says, that if you then be raised i.e. if you have the seeds, then your actions should be things above.

                        Let us pray…..
